11/16/2004 Archived Entry: "The beginning of the arcade machine..."

Well, first part of the arcade machine complete, have a pc to run mame on, joysticks, monitor, mdf, tools. Next step, getting the control panels made. Aluminium would be nice :D. The joysticks and a majority of the pushbuttons were purchased from ozstick.com.au and are controlled by an i-pac keyboard encoder. The end two buttons on each stick are out of an old c64 joystick from Chris, so he could play two player rampage :).

The pc is an old pentium 2 233, running fraggal's boot cd. Struggles with anything too fancy, but seems to run pacman and galaga just fine.
